I asked DeepSeek about China – then viewed it censor itself midway through the responses

The arrival of DeepSeek, a brand-new Chinese chatbot to rival OpenAI, Google and Meta, has actually sent shockwaves through the AI world and the US stock exchange.

The chatbot, which is purportedly more effective and more affordable to run than its rivals, sent the stocks of chip-maker Nvidia crashing this week, and $938 billion was cleaned from its worth in a single day.

Road tests of DeepSeek fasted to prompt censorship issues. There was a rejection to answer concerns about controversial topics in China such as the Tiananmen Square massacre, which certainly I experienced when I used it for the very first time.

Watch the video below to see DeepSeek’s real-time self-censorship in action.

I then asked it some other concerns I didn’t expect DeepSeek to respond to at all. What I noticed was unusual. It did answer – before promptly erasing its own actions.
